Senior QA Engineer – Marketplace Quality, Compliance & AI-Ready Systems

Why This Role Is Different

Most QA roles focus on checking boxes. This role is about protecting trust at platform scale.

Rapid Alpha builds EVOS, a platform designed to make AI usable for high-stakes business decisions by grounding it in curated, traceable, and reusable data, prompts, and workflows. As EVOS evolves into a marketplace where third parties can publish prompts, datasets, and applications, quality failures are no longer just bugs — they are reputational, legal, and business risks.

We are looking for a dual-threat QA Engineer who can:

  • Rigorously test software systems, and
  • Act as a quality and compliance gatekeeper for a growing AI marketplace.

If you enjoy breaking systems, understanding why they broke, evaluating whether something should exist at all, and clearly explaining risk and impact — this role is built for you.

What You’ll Do

1. Full-Stack Quality Engineering

  • Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test suites across:
    • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery (UI, usability, regression)
    • Backend: Python services, PHP/Laravel, APIs, automation workflows
    • Database: PostgreSQL validation, integrity checks, edge-case analysis
  • Build and maintain automation using Selenium, PyTest, unittest, or similar frameworks.
  • Execute API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or Python-based tools.
  • Validate integration between Laravel web layers and Python automation services.

2. Marketplace Quality & Compliance Validation

  • Review and validate third-party apps, prompts, datasets, and workflows submitted to the EVOS marketplace.
  • Ensure marketplace submissions comply with:
    • Rapid Alpha quality standards
    • Data usage and licensing policies
    • Prompt and workflow safety guidelines
    • Traceability and repeatability requirements
  • Identify policy violations, ambiguous edge cases, and quality risks before publication.
  • Partner with product and legal stakeholders to continuously refine marketplace standards.

This is not automated scanning alone — it requires judgment, pattern recognition, and risk assessment.

3. AI-Aware & Systems-Level Testing

  • Test and troubleshoot workflows where code, logic, prompts, or outputs are AI-assisted.
  • Identify failure modes introduced by:
    • Prompt reuse and chaining
    • Dataset updates or substitutions
    • Workflow composition across multiple contributors
  • Validate that outputs are repeatable, traceable, explainable, and defensible, not just “passing.”

4. Analytical & Consulting-Grade QA

  • Use IP documents, financial data, and internal management artifacts as part of test scenarios.
  • Validate that platform behavior aligns with business logic, legal constraints, and strategic intent.
  • Think beyond “does it work?” to:
    • Is it defensible?
    • Is it explainable to a client?
    • Would a regulated or enterprise user trust this output?

5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with developers to reproduce issues and drive root-cause resolution.
  • Partner with product, analytics, and platform teams to prevent defects before they ship.
  • Continuously improve test coverage, automation efficiency, marketplace review processes, and QA standards.

What We’re Looking For

Core Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in QA (manual + automation).
  • Hands-on experience testing Laravel / PHP applications.
  • Strong experience testing REST APIs and Python-based backend services.
  • Solid PostgreSQL knowledge for data validation and query testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Strong debugging skills and clear written and verbal communication.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience in management consulting, analyst roles, or research-heavy environments.
  • Comfort reviewing technical, financial, legal, or IP-related documents.
  • Ability to explain technical and data risks in business terms.
  • High judgment, curiosity, skepticism, and a bias toward evidence.

Why Join Rapid Alpha

  • You’ll help build a platform that makes AI trustworthy for real business decisions.
  • You’ll work at the intersection of software quality, data integrity, AI, and strategy.
  • You’ll collaborate with professional developers and high-caliber analysts.
  • You’ll help define what quality and compliance mean in an AI marketplace.
  • This role has a clear path into platform-level leadership and authority.

How You Will Grow at Rapid Alpha

Rapid Alpha is building EVOS for the long term — and we’re building our people the same way.

As EVOS grows from a powerful internal platform into a multi-sided marketplace for datasets, prompts, workflows, and applications, the importance of quality, compliance, and trust compounds. That creates a rare opportunity: you can build your entire career here, growing alongside the platform itself.

This is not a dead-end QA role. It is a path to becoming a recognized expert in AI-ready systems, marketplace governance, trusted data platforms, and high-stakes software validation.

Early Growth: Becoming a Core Platform & Marketplace Expert

In your first phase, you will:

  • Master EVOS end-to-end: frontend, backend, APIs, data pipelines, and workflows
  • Learn how prompts, datasets, and apps move through the marketplace lifecycle
  • Develop expertise in testing AI-assisted systems and reusable components
  • Work closely with senior developers and analysts to understand how software, data, and business decisions intersect

You’ll quickly move beyond execution into systems thinking and risk awareness.

Mid-Career Growth: From Tester to Trusted Gatekeeper

As you grow, your role shifts from finding issues to preventing platform-level failures.

You may:

  • Define quality and compliance standards for marketplace submissions
  • Become a primary reviewer for high-risk prompts, datasets, or workflows
  • Mentor junior QA engineers
  • Influence how developers and contributors design for trust from day one
  • Translate technical behavior into business, legal, and reputational impact

At this stage, teams rely on you to answer a critical question:

“Can we safely allow this into the ecosystem?”

Long-Term Growth: Leadership or Deep Expertise

As EVOS becomes widely adopted, two respected paths open:

Leadership Path

  • Lead QA Engineer / Quality Architect
  • Head of Platform Quality or AI Systems Validation
  • Ownership of trust, compliance, and release confidence across the marketplace

Technical Authority Path

  • Principal QA Engineer / AI & Marketplace Validation Specialist
  • Deep focus on AI failure modes, policy enforcement, dataset integrity, and repeatability
  • Influence platform standards without managing large teams

Both paths keep you close to complex problems, high-caliber colleagues, and real impact.

What Makes This Career Different

  • You grow with a platform that compounds in value over time
  • You help define trust and quality in an AI marketplace
  • You work with professional developers and top-tier analysts
  • Your work directly shapes how companies make high-stakes decisions

If you have long-term career goals, strong judgment, and enjoy working with smart, driven people on problems that matter — Rapid Alpha is built for you to grow here.

Why This Role Is Different

Most QA roles are about finding bugs.

This role is about protecting trust.

Rapid Alpha builds EVOS, a platform designed to support high-stakes business decisions by grounding AI in curated, traceable, and reusable datasets, prompts, and workflows. As EVOS evolves into a marketplace where third parties can publish apps, prompts, and datasets, quality failures stop being “defects” and become reputational, legal, and business risks.

We are hiring a hybrid QA engineer who combines:

  • Deep technical testing capability, and
  • Consulting-grade judgment about whether something should exist at all.

If you enjoy breaking systems, understanding why they broke, evaluating risk in ambiguous situations, and clearly explaining impact to technical and business stakeholders—this role is built for you.

Who Thrives in This Role

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Thinks like a consultant but tests like an engineer
  • Is comfortable saying: “This technically works, but it shouldn’t ship”
  • Enjoys being the trusted gatekeeper when decisions carry real risk
  • Prefers accountability and judgment over checklists

This is not a pure development role—but it requires deep technical literacy across the full stack to evaluate platform behavior, risk, and quality.

What You’ll Do

1. Full-Stack Quality Engineering

You will design, execute, and maintain quality validation across the EVOS platform:

  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
    • UI, usability, regression, edge cases
  • Backend: Python services, PHP/Laravel APIs, automation workflows
  • Database: PostgreSQL data validation, integrity checks, and edge-case analysis

You will:

  • Build and maintain automation using Selenium, PyTest, unittest, or similar frameworks
  • Execute API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or Python-based tools
  • Validate integrations between Laravel web layers and Python automation services

2. Marketplace Quality & Compliance Gatekeeping

As EVOS grows into a marketplace, quality becomes governance.

You will:

  • Review and validate third-party apps, prompts, datasets, and workflows submitted to EVOS
  • Ensure submissions meet:
    • Rapid Alpha quality standards
    • Data usage and licensing policies
    • Prompt and workflow safety guidelines
    • Traceability and repeatability requirements
  • Identify ambiguous edge cases and latent risks before publication
  • Partner with product, legal, and platform stakeholders to evolve marketplace standards

This work requires judgment, pattern recognition, and risk assessment—not just automated scanning.

3. AI-Aware & Systems-Level Testing

You will test workflows where behavior emerges from:

  • Code
  • Prompts
  • Datasets
  • Workflow composition across multiple contributors

You will:

  • Identify AI-specific failure modes (prompt reuse, chaining, dataset substitution)
  • Validate that outputs are:
    • Repeatable
    • Traceable
    • Explainable
    • Defensible

Passing tests is not enough—outputs must be trustworthy.

4. Analytical & Consulting-Grade QA

You will routinely test EVOS using:

  • IP documents
  • Financial data
  • Internal management artifacts

You will evaluate not just “does it work?” but:

  • Is it defensible in front of a client?
  • Is it explainable to a regulated or enterprise user?
  • Does platform behavior align with business logic and strategic intent?

5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner closely with developers to reproduce issues and drive root-cause resolution
  • Work with product and analytics teams to prevent defects before release
  • Continuously improve:
    • Test coverage
